The newly announced Microsoft Surface 2 may be heading to the hands of Delta Air Lines pilots. According to a Windows IT Pro report, this deal will be officially announced in the next few days and in the meantime, the airline doesn’t want to comment on rumors.
Still we can tell that something’s cooking since this same airline decided to give away Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia Lumia 820 to its more than 19,000 flight attendants. And it only makes sense to stick to one platform to make for a familiar user experience.
Meanwhile, some other companies in the business such as United and Alaska Airlines have been giving away iPads to their pilots as a replacement to lengthy manuals and maps.
We’re always glad to see mobile (or that’s tablet>) technology going to the place where it wasn’t before. And are looking for an even better experience on our flights… and yes, tablets can have a big role in serving passengers’ needs…
