Lots of excitement is brewing for what new features Android 4.4 KitKat will bring, as folks await the search giant’s upcoming Nexus phone. However in the latest leak, we’re learning that KitKat will change the way Android receive and send messages. Leaked pictures show both SMS and MMS messaging will be integrated into Google Hangouts, with the standalone Messaging app likely to be dropped from KitKat, according to Android Police.
Of course, this is just speculation. For all we know Google may release this feature by way of a new Hangouts update before KitKat hits Nexus devices. And to be real, it would make more sense for Google to just release such an incremental feature in a simple app update, versus holding it for a KitKat launch.
