HTC One Max launching on October 18th?

HTC has started sending out invites for October 18th event in Kaohsiung, Taiwan where we could see the rumored One Max officially unveiled. The invitation obtained by Engadget has these two lines: “One finger opens up a big view” and “You are invited to immerse in the sound with us.”

The first line hints HTC’s phablet will ship with fingerprint sensors and the second one – it will have BoomSound front-facing speakers that could be more powerful than what we’ve seen before on other HTC phones. Given the size of this thing, the HTC One Max may emerge as the loudest mobile device ever.

Unfortunately, we’re hearing that it won’t be among the most powerful phablets, with HTC opting for a slower Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chip rather than Snapdragon 800 which is found in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Then again, this somewhat controversial, decision may help the Taiwanese company make its product more affordable than Samsung’s one. We’ll have to wait for another 10 days to get all the answers. Stay tuned in the meantime…
