AT&T is trying to connect more tablet users to their data network by introducing a $5 per day data option. AT&T is also said to be introducing a $25 plan for 1GB of data, which will be usable for a three-month period. The plans were mentioned today at GigaOM’s mobilize conference in San Francisco.
AT&T also announced that it would be providing data service to Tesla vehicles, providing infotainment, maps and the like to the electric vehicles. The deal has reportedly been in the works for some time, with the first public mention of the program coming today. The deal could see a variety of data plans for the vehicles, such as the ability for the manufacturer to pay for telemetry data while Tesla owners pay for hotspot or entertainment features.
