Google Play Store is the latest KitKat Android 4.4 leak to hit the internet. The new Play store (version 4.4) rids itself of the crappy single menu in the top of the toolbar, instead it implements the “hamburger”-style slide-out navigation. This comes after rumors surfaced about Android’s upcoming KitKat update, which should bring integrated SMS, MMS into Hangouts. Google Play Store version 4.4 should mimic the recently updated Gmail app which came with a cards like layout.
Here’s what the new slide-out navigation menu brings in tabs:
- Store home
- My apps, My movies & TV, etc., depending on the section you’re currently in
- Shop – this one doesn’t appear at all times
- My wishlist
- Redeem
Unfortunately, this new update isn’t expected to roll out for at least a couple of weeks (or more). Although Play store v4.4 has slid through the cracks, it’s said to not be all the way done as the search giant is still putting in the finishing touches.
Judging from the screenshots provided by the folks over at Android Police, I’d say the new Google Play Store’s functionality will have improved. I say this because it’ll bring a cleaner, more user-friendly experience to all Android fans abroad. It’ll make getting to the things you want quicker.
