Last week we caught a glimpse of the new version of the Google Play Store that featured a slide out navigation menu, and now the update is now rolling out to devices starting today!
The update itself is rather minimal, and other than the new slide out menu, there’s little else to speak of. Still, this design aesthetic falls in line with many of Google’s home-made applications. The new menu works in both portrait and landscape modes as you’d expect, and now includes a Store Home options so you can quick jump back to the main Google Play Store pages from a subcategory, so you’ll no longer need to keep pressing the back button to get there.
We know that this isn’t the only update that set to be pushed for the Google Play Store, as it will soon see a few enhancements for tablet-optimized applications to be discovered more easily. And we also can’t forget about the vague invitation that we saw last week, either.
The updated Google Play Store is rolling out as we speak, so don’t worry if you don’t get it immediately. Plus, it likely won’t revolutionize the way you use Google Play anyway.
