Moto G trademark appears at USPTO

After the Moto X, the American handset maker is considering expanding its line-up with some sort of G series. According to the USPTO filing, the company may be working on Moto G devices though we’re not sure what these products will be all about. All we know is that Moto secured the trademark for “Mobile phones, smartphones and accessories therefore, namely battery chargers, adapters and removable covers”, and as far as we (don’t) know the “G” could stand for accessories rather than phones.

On the other hand — and here’s where the speculation begins — Moto G phones could come with more “pure” Android experience a la Nexus and “Google Edition” devices, where “G” stands for “Google.” It’s really hard to tell whether something like this is in Moto’s pipeline, but we like to think the company will soon launch some better models since the Moto X is not on par with top-end phones of today. And if we can take the Moto X as a starting point, there’s much to look forward to from the Moto G… presuming it ever launches, of course. We’ll let you know when we hear something new on this.
