Samsung Galaxy Gear compatibility comes to more phones

Samsung is bringing Galaxy Gear compatibility to more phones, including the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note II. In addition, the same treatment will get the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy Mega 5.8, Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy S4 Zoom.

Up until this moment, Sammy’s smart watch was only compatible with Galaxy Note 3, which is not just super-expensive but also oversized for many users. Luckily, the Gear will now be able to sing along more devices, the fact that will undoubtedly help the Korean giant move many more watches in the weeks to come. That said, we would expect to see a number of different Samsung bundles offered during the Holiday season, featuring a smartphone and smart watch in a more affordable package.

Now it’s up to your local carrier to test out the software and make sure your Samsung smartphone can get the update needed to communicate with the Galaxy Gear. As it’s usually the case, these sort of updates are rolled out in stages and the Korean company has no complete control over the process…
