DotEmu, the company we know best for launching some of the most popular retro games on mobile platforms, is doing it again. This time, they’re brining Double Dragon to an iOS and Android device near you.

All three Double Dragon games will be launched as a single Double Dragon Trilogy title, featuring all your favorite moves, including punches, kicks, elbows, knees, head-butts and an assortment of not-exactly-street-legal weapons.

There are two game modes to choose from – “Arcade” where you play the game from beginning to end and go for the high score, and “Story” in which you’ll be unlocking new stages and achievements while playing through the game. You can also select between three difficulty levels (mobile, original and expert), go for the original 8-bit soundtrack or a brand-new remastered one, and even play the game with a friend via Bluetooth. Best of all, gamepad support comes included, making sure you get the arcade-like user experience.

Exact launch date hasn’t been unveiled, but we’re betting Double Dragon Trilogy will hit Apple’s AppStore and Google Play Store any day now. Here’s a demo video to get you in the mood in the meantime. 😉
