Samsung may be working on a mini version of the Galaxy S4 Active. At least such a device has been caught at TENAA, which is the Chinese equivalent of the FCC.
Design-wise, this does look like the Active’s smaller brother. However, it’s not a petite device by any stretch of imagination, boasting a rather large 4.65-inch screen that support WVGA (480×800 pixels) resolution. Such big screen could easily “handle” more pixels, but I guess the idea was to keep the phone cheap.
Rest of the specs include a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chip, 1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing one, while Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is running the show. Yeah, we would get the “regular” Galaxy S4 Mini over this, apparently rugged, version any day.
Then again, this may not be the Active Mini at all. It could be a more affordable look-alike. And it may never be released in the Western hemisphere. If it does hit the West, we expect to see it announced any day now. After all, the Holiday shopping season will kickoff within a month and Sammy would want to have as many different products available on the shelves. At least that was its strategy thus far.
So what do you say about the Galaxy S4 Active Mini? Presuming such device is indeed in development, would you consider getting one?
