Samsung smart TVs to get Chromecast-like content sharing

Samsung is working to add a Chromecast-like technology into its smart TVs, AndroidCentral is reporting. Select Sammy-made TV sets already come with Miracast screen sharing, but this is somewhat different. As far as I’ve understood, Miracast simply mirrors the phone/tablet’s screen on the TV, whereas Chromecast uses TV as a big display, allowing users to continue using their mobile device for other things.

It is said that Pandora will be one of the apps supporting the capability and we’re sure others will join as well. Think Hulu, HBO Go, Vimeo, Redbox Instant…

I personally don’t watch TV — like at all — but I like the ability to stream stuff from my phone/tablet to other (bigger) screens. And cables usually kill my will to connect a phone to the TV… So we’ll keep watching Samsung and let you know as soon as we have something new to add to this story. Stay tuned in the meantime…
