Tizen, Samsung’s long talked about mobile OS has finally made an appearance today in a hands-on video that spans an exhaustive 9 minutes.
The video showcases Tizen running on Samsung’s Z9005 or “Redwood” which is a developer phone that has similar specs to the Galaxy S3. Tizen is slated to be Samsung’s alternative to Android, but resembles an Android rip-off more than anything.
Tizen doesn’t seem that much different from Android, but does look clean and provides a full feature set. Tizen includes NFC options, power saving and even a built-in “find my mobile” service. Where Tizen stands out is in the privacy options, with a built-in firewall that allows users to blacklist certain websites and IP addresses.
