We don’t cover China’s Zopo a lot but they are getting serious about smartphones. Their existing portfolio includes any number of MediaTek-powered low- and mid-end devices, and now they’re preparing to launch an awesome product, one that would be the world’s “true octa-core” phone.

What this means is that Zopo’s upcoming device will have a chip that uses all eight cores at once rather than switching between them [cores] when needed – like Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa does.

To make this happen, Zopo will use MediaTek’s new MT6592 processor, which will apparently launch a day earlier (November 20th).

The sweet part is that Zopo’s new phone won’t be limited to China. The company plans to offer at least 5,000 of these to international buyers who will be able to order their units through Zopo’s website.

We still don’t have the specs sheet of the soon-to-be-announced-phone but the chances are they include a full HD screen, 13-megapixel camera on the back, 2GB of RAM and a ton of expandable storage. We’ll let you know when we have something new to add to this. Stay tuned…
