Samsung Galaxy Gear just got better. Much better. The Korean company is rolling out a firmware update that will allow any app to beam its notifications to your wrist. No longer will you need to deal with workarounds like the ATN Manager app as this capability will come included.
The Gear Manager update works in tandem with a software update that is rolling out for the Gear (build V700XXUAMK7), and will let you select which app sends a notification to the watch. You may not want to be disturbed for every friggin poke out there, but some notifications you don’t want to miss.
Yeah, we’re wondering why this capability didn’t arrive built-in with the Galaxy Gear, but alas – it’s good that it’s here now. So, as soon as you smart watch manager app informs you about the update, push the button and follow the on-screen instructions. Before you know it, your wrist will be bursting with tweets.
