For one reason or another, Sony delayed the launch of the Xperia Z1s aka Xperia Z1 Mini in the West. The device that has the potential to outsell all other “Mini phones” — including the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and HTC One Mini — has been unveiled in Japan as Xperia Z1 f, while the rest of the world is still waiting for its debut.
Now, an Xperia Z1s case has been caught at Amazon UK, hinting us the time has come… Or is it? You see, if Sony delayed the launch thus far, the chances are it will keep delaying it until early next year, and then launch the Xperia Z1’s petite brother with U.S. carriers from the floor of the CES in Las Vegas. And then repeat the routine with European carriers at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. That sounds like a reasonable strategy.
Meanwhile, let’s repeat why the Xperia Z1s / Xperia Z1 Mini is an important product for Sony. It packs top-end specs, including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 quad-core chip, 20.7MP rear camera, 2GB of RAM, and a smaller (than the regular Xperia Z1) 4.3-inch 720p HD screen. Yeah, it’s by far the best “Mini” smartphone ever made and we wouldn’t be surprised if it turns as the top selling device in its category. Do you want one of these?
