A forerunner in the Chinese smartphone market, ZTE has released two mid-tier smartphones today, the ZTE Nubia 5s and Nubia Z5s mini. The devices will come in two variants, one with LTE support and one without, and come with 16 or 32GB of storage. The design of the Nubia Z5s and the Z5s mini resemble the iPhone, with one physical circular button on the bottom of the handsets and a slab-like form factor. Under the hood, the devices run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The predecessor to the Nubia Z5s, the Nubia Z5 managed to make it to U.S. shores, which occurred months after its Chinese launch. We still have no word on if or when the device will land in the U.S., but it sure would be an affordable Android handset which could compete with the likes of the Nexus 5 and the LG G2.
