Video: Samsung Galaxy S5 Concept Envisions Curved, Aluminum Body and 64-bit Processor

No stranger to speculation and concept designs, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has received yet another concept video, brought to us by O2 Guru TV. The concept is not only beautiful but smart as well, combining S5 rumors as well as recent Samsung and HTC hardware innovations.

The Galaxy S5 concept takes a page from the Galaxy Round and depicts the S5 as having a slight curve to it. The team speculates that Samsung will drop its plastic device design and go with aluminum, making the device feel more like a top-notch piece of tech instead of a plastic kids toy. Also included is a super advanced speaker setup, akin to that of HTC’s BoomSound, which is truly a marvel.

As for specs, the team envisions the S5 as touting a 64-bit octa-core processor, similar to Apple’s A7 chip which resides in the iPhone 5s. The S5 touts a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, a 16 MP camera which will record 4K video, a 4,000mAh battery and of course, Android 4.4 KitKat. The device will run a new version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI as well, but who really cares about that?

Rumor has it that the Galaxy S5 will be launching in January of 2014. The reasoning for this is supposedly because of a shortage of Galaxy S4 sales, which has been hitting Samsung’s bottom line. While the Galaxy S4 has certainly been selling well since it’s introduction last April, sales have slowed with the release of other flagship handsets such as the LG G2 and the iPhone 5s.

Check out the concept video below, and let us know what you think should be packed into the Samsung Galaxy S5, and be sure to check out our roundup of Samsung Galaxy S5 concepts as well.
