Google Search app for Windows Phone 8 gets a small, yet important update

Google has updated its mobile app for Windows Phone 8 users. The new version doesn’t bring many spectacular changes, but it’s worth downloading, nonetheless. Here’s what’s new:

  • The ability to sign-in to your Google account within the app.
  • Voice commands are now instantly displayed on the screen.
  • Improved Google Image viewing.
  • Several other bug fixes and resolution enhancements.

While this is all nice we can’t help but mention the YouTube app here. Not sure why Google doesn’t finally launch it on Microsoft’s mobile platform — an HTML app isn’t exactly the solution. I’m sure the search giant wants to have some Android exclusives but I don’t think it’s fair to keep YouTube available only on select devices…

YouTube on Windows Phone would be nice.
