Verizon unveils tablet-centric $5 Daily Plan with 300MB of data allowance

Verizon Wireless unveiled a new simple plan to tablet owners. The new “Daily Plan” costs $5 and includes 300MB of mobile data for 24 hours, making it perfect for tourists. It slots in below the previous offering of $20 for 1GB of data per month.

Aside from tablets, this plan will also work with other connected devices like the Samsung Galaxy Camera, and can be used as many times as you please. In other words, if you’re visiting a city for three days, you can pay $15 and get 900MB of data for that period and freely surf the web, cyber-schmooze and download stuff like it’s nobody business.

However, it’s worth putting Verizon’s new plan in perspective, comparing it with what other carriers are offering. We can’t help but mention T-Mobile, which is giving away 200MB per month for free to any tablet user, whether they’ve purchased the tablet through Magenta carrier or not.

    I like $5 for 300MB, I just don’t like the time limit.
