Huawei Ascend Mate 2 caught in the wild

Huawei’s upcoming Ascend Mate 2 has been caught in the wild and it’s likely it will be officially announced during the upcoming CES in Las Vegas, exactly a year after the original Mate was unveiled.

We don’t know all of the specs but we do have many details: Huawei’s next phablet will rock a 6.1-inch full HD screen, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. On the downside though, it is said that the Mate 2 will launch Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s own Emotion UI 2.0 running on top. Hopefully, a KitKat update will follow shortly after the launch.

The Chinese company have been killing it lately, and is currently the third largest smartphone maker, after Samsung and Apple. While I personally don’t quite understand phones as big as the Mate (and Mate 2), I know there are some folks who can’t seem to get a big enough screen on their phones. And besides if other vendors are making such devices, the chances are some folks do buy these phones…
