It was at the end of October when we’ve told you that BenQ is set to return to the mobile market. Now we have the first two smartphones unveiled – BenQ A3 and F3, both trying to find buyers in the mid-end of the market.
The two phones both rock a 4.5-inch qHD screen, 1GB of RAM, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and 4GB of internal (though expandable) storage. When it comes to differences, the F3 comes with MediaTek’s 1.2GHz MT6589 quad-core chip, while the A3 opts for Qualcomm-made Snapdragon MSM8225Q SoC, also clocked at 1.2GHz. In addition, the F3 has a 13-megapixel f/2.2 rear camera with HDR and zero shutter delay, whereas the A3 only has an 8-megapixel sensor.
BenQ will start selling its phones in Taiwan: the unlocked F3 could be yours for NT$7,990 (about $270), while the A3 goes for NT$5,990 (about $200). Still no information whether these two, or some future BenQ handset, will ever make it to the West…
