ZTE is gearing towards launching a successor to its Grand S phone. The Grand S II has been cleared by Chinese equivalent of the FCC, and it’s also being caught at AnTuTu benchmarks. The AnTuTu results suggest this phone/phablet will rock Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 chipset, and with 33,357 points – it’s slightly (by 2,000 points) faster than Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3.

Rest of the specs apparently include a 5.5-inch full HD screen, 2GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel camera on the back. The version that was cleared in China also rocks TD-SCDMA radio making it ready for China Mobile’s network. However, a WCDMA model is also in works and as far as we (don’t) know, it could be launched either at CES in Las Vegas or Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear something new on this. Stay tuned in the meantime…
