The trend of “Mini” phones keep raging. Asus wants to join-in as well, and is preparing to launch a smaller version of its Padfone on December 11th. According to Chinese website UDN, the company has sent invitations to Taiwanese media for a special event that will take place on that day.
The Padfone Mini’s rumored specs are comparable to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, and include a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) screen and Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, while the dock will have a 7-inch display. The price is still a mystery but we doubt this product will cost as much as the hot-new Padfone Infinity 2, which is selling for around $900.
We also hope Asus will yet again offer the keyboard dock that will further transform its smartphone/tablet into a small laptop. For some reason they opted to ditch this option after the original Padfone. No wonder they’re struggling in the smartphone market…
