Yahoo keeps acquiring companies like it’s nobody’s business. Their latest target is Ptch, the video creation app launched last year by former DreamWorks CTO Ed Leonard.
According to Ptch’s blog post, the startup team will soon be joining Yahoo, helping the online media giant grow its photo and video platforms. As a result, the service [Ptch] will shut down on January 2nd.
This is obviously good news for Flickr fans who can hope to get an even better service in the months to come.
Speaking of which [Flickr], it is in the midst of some sort of renaissance, having experience a sevenfold increased in daily uploads.
As for existing Ptch users, they are free to download their “ptches” from ptch.com or directly to their Camera Rolls.
