Skype has announced another update to its Windows Phone app that adds some much-requested features. Skype version 2.13 is live now on the Windows Phone store and it adds several bug fixes as well as the ability to copy and paste IMs.

The users have spoken and the dev team has listened. Copy and paste for instant messaging is a welcome addition to this newest version of the Windows Phone application. You can now tap and hold an IM, hit copy and then paste the text anywhere you’d like.

Accessibility for folks with limited sight has been increased as well. This update adds a high contrast mode to the Skype app, which will be enabled automatically when your phone is configured. High contrast modes help make the images and text on the screen really pop for users whose vision is compromised

Also, load times have been reduced significantly in this updates, something that was an issue with previous builds of the app. Recent conversations should now load promptly when you start up the app.

With this most recent version, Skype has also become available in China. Skype announced a partnership with Guangming Founder to bring its services to Windows Phone users in the Chinese mainland.

The Skype team announced the updates today on its blog and the details follow below. You can grab Skype for Windows Phone right here!

Today we’re excited to release an update to Skype for Windows Phone 8, version 2.13.

As we continue the journey on Skype’s Mobile Future, we’ve focused this release of Skype for Windows Phone on getting you into the conversations you care about faster. In 2.13 we’ve made a significant improvement to the time it takes for the app and your recent conversations to load when you start up Skype from the tile.

In addition, following user feedback we’ve introduced copy and paste for instant messaging conversations. You can now press and hold an IM message, select copy and paste it to where you need it.

We’re improving accessibility too by adding a high contrast mode to the app – which is enabled when your Windows Phone is set to high contrast.

We are also excited to announce Skype for Windows Phone is now available in China following our strategic partnership in the region with Guangming Founder.

Get the updated version now from the Windows Phone Store.

We’re always looking to improve your experience on Skype and pay close attention to your feedback. To get the latest news and tips, follow us on Twitter and Facebook, or join us on the Skype Community.
