Google-owned Zagat has a new Android app which, among other things, introduces a brand new tablet UI. This in turn will allow users to access all of the reviews and ratings on a big screen. Speaking of which [ratings and reviews], they are now easily accessible right from the homescreen, and you also get to read about shopping destinations and hotels.
In addition, many new locations are also included to the mix, such as those in New Jersey, Miami, Houston and Long Island. Plus, you’ll also get to see Google Street View panoramas and browse around the places which Street View guys and gals managed to visit with their powerful 360-degree cameras.
Finally, let’s not forget the usual bug fixes and improvements that should make for a that much better user experience…
With the rise of Yelp, people almost forgot about Zagat, but Google is doing the best it can to yet again make it a relevant guide. With these kinds of updates, they’re steadily getting there… or so we think. What do you say?
