Well folks, it has finally happened. Apple and China Mobile have officially announced the deal under which the iPhone will be available from the world’s largest mobile operator. Pre-registration will open on December 25th, and the phone will hit the stores starting from January 17, 2014.
Both the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5c will be offered, though as I’m writing this we don’t know how much China Mobile will ask for Apple’s handset. We do know that this deal could easily help the Cupertino-based company hit another record-breaking quarter.
So we’re not surprised to read Tim Cook’s comments. Here’s what he said: “Apple has enormous respect for China Mobile and we are excited to begin working together. China is an extremely important market for Apple and our partnership with China Mobile presents us the opportunity to bring iPhone to the customers of the world’s largest network. iPhone customers in China are an enthusiastic and rapidly growing group, and we can’t think of a better way to welcome in the Chinese New Year than getting an iPhone into the hands of every China Mobile customer who wants one.”
Just when we thought Apple has no room for further growth in the smartphone market, this deal will yet again propel it to the new heights…
