Huawei Ascend W3 to be unveiled at CES?

Huawei may use the forthcoming CES to yet again re-affirm its commitment towards Windows Phone. According to FoneArena, the Chinese company may unveil the Ascend W3 in Vegas, the device that would supersede the earlier W1 and W2 models.

The story goes on suggesting this will be a mid-range device with a 720p HD screen. Other details are unknown, but presuming there’s some merit in this rumor, we should get all details in the next few days.

It’s interesting to see Huawei sticking to Windows Phone despite Microsoft’s soon-to-be-finalized acquisition of Nokia. After that process is completed, the Redmond giant will command a majority of the [Windows Phone] market, and will most likely launch its own Surface phone later in the year. Still, they want a thriving eco-system consisting of more vendors, not just Nokia, and is undoubtedly assisting other companies in launching Windows-based products. It remains to be seen whether that’s enough to get a decent share of the market…
