Parrot unveiled new drones at CES, MiniDrone and Parrot Jumping Sumo, both of which are controlled from a smartphone or tablet with an accompanying iOS/Android app.
The MiniDrone is a small quad-copter that can be attached to a wheeled carriage. Controlled via Bluetooth (rather than Wi-Fi), it comes with an ultrasonic sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope and downwards facing camera. Its operation range is 160 feet, while its battery supports flight times of some 6-7 minutes.
The second toy, Parrot Jumping Sumo, is more of a “ground affair,” rocking two large wheels to get its way around the home. This small machine is controlled via Wi-Fi and can ran around for roughly 20 minutes. It has a front facing camera and, check this, the ability to jump up to 3 feet!
We like both of these, though unfortunately the French company failed to mention when they will start selling and how much each of them will cost. We do have a promo video to share. Check it out.
