Now we know what all those balls falling from the Taiwan’s sky were all about; just like we’ve predicted, ASUS unveiled a trio of new smartphones with screen sizes ranging from 4 to 6 inches.
The new Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 are affordable handsets, targeting folks looking for “high-value” products.
The Zenfone 6 is obviously best of the pack, sporting a 6-inch 720p HD screen, 2Ghz Intel Atom Z2580 processor, 1GB of RAM, 13-megapixel camera with ASUS PixelMaster technology on the back, and a rather decent 3230mAh battery. The Zenfone 5 is pretty much the same with specs that include a 5-inch 720p HD screen and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Both of these will be available in few different colors, including Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red and Champagne Gold.
Finally, the Zenfone 4 is the low-end affair with a 4-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 processor, 1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel camera and 1170mAh battery. This model will be available in Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, Sky Blue and Solar Yellow.
All three units will start shipping soon running Android 4.3 out of box with KitKat update arriving later in the year. The Zenfone 4 will go for $99, Zenfone 5 – $149, and Zenfone 6 for $199.
