When Huawei announced its latest phablet, Ascend Mate 2, it failed to mention the price of this huge phone. Luckily we now know its price, as well as the price of the still unannounced Ascend P6S.
Thanks to the Chinese media, we know that the Mate 2 will go for RMB$2,988 (around $493) while the Ascend P6S will be priced at RMB$2,288 (around $378). In addition, we’re also hearing that both of them will start selling before the Chinese New Year, which falls on the last day of January.
It is said that Huawei-made quad-core processor will run the show on both the Mate 2 and Ascend P6S, while the rest of the specs (for both models) will include a 720p HD screen, 2GB of RAM and a decent amount of built-in storage.
However, unlike the Mate 2, the Ascend P6S will be more of a mass-market device that is easy to carry around and for which Huawei has high hopes with plans to move millions of units. We’ll see how that goes…
