The Samsung Life Times app launching with Galaxy S5?

Samsung Life Times

Samsung knows the key to making a successful product isn’t “just” hardware. In order to justify the steep price tag of its flagship devices, the Korean giant has been investing heavily in software. As a result, Galaxy S series owners get some of the goodies no other devices have. Not that most of these apps and widgets are super useful, but they could be presented as an advantage in the ever-competitive smartphone market.

One such app could be Samsung Life Times, which will reportedly launch alongside the Galaxy S5. The application is made to seamlessly track one’s whereabouts, logging things such as call logs, messages, photos, as well as data you share across social networks like Facebook, Google+, Foursquare, Instagram and/or LinkedIn. Yeah, it’s similar to Samsung’s existing Story Album app but it has more features. That said, we’re not sure whether Story Album will be renamed to Life Times or the two apps will exist independently of each other.

As you can see from the screenshots share here, Samsung Life Times rocks a fancy UI that follows design rules of Android 4.4 KitKat, suggesting other (than Galaxy S5) devices could get it as part of Sammy’s Premium Update that is usually released following the major (Android) platform launch. We’ll see whether this and some other software tweaks will help Samsung retain its crown…
