Sprint has quietly made the Android 4.4 KitKat update available for the HTC One. By quietly we mean that the new firmware won’t be pushed out to your device just yet; you’ll have to manually check for update through Settings -> About phone. Or wait to be prompted to do so on February 11th.
Waiting is for suckers; stop everything you’re doing and see whether your HTC One can get the latest version of Android now. Moreover, software version 4.06.651.4 also includes version 5.5 of HTC’s Sense skin, as well as a number of tweaks, changes and bug fixes.
We can’t but agree with AndroidPolice for their praise to the way Sprint has pulled this out. First, let the geeky community get their goodies and only later on, push the same thing to the general public. It’s the former that cares the most about running the latest software version, whereas the latter (general community), in most cases, is perfectly fine with what they’ve got… presuming there are no notable glitches…
