We know that Samsung Galaxy S5 is coming this year, and now we’re hearing that just like its predecessor, it too will have its “Active” version.
According to Korean ETnews, the still-current Galaxy S4 Active has accounted for just 3-4 percent of the “total Galaxy S4? sales. This time, however, the company wants to make its dust- and water-proof model more of a mainstream device, with plans for that model to account for 20-30 percent of the total Galaxy S5 sales.
The report goes on suggesting that Sammy wants to produce roughly 5 million Galaxy S5 Active units in the first batch with additional units being added at a later date.
We always liked the Galaxy S5 Active as it was one of the very few such smartphones on the market. There are also Sony-made devices, which unfortunately haven’t managed to reach significant sales figures. This year, we’ll hopefully have more dust/water-proof options to choose from…
