With so many rumors floating around, we’re still unsure what the Galaxy S5 will be all about. Adding to the already huge pile, we have two new tidbits of information suggesting Sammy’s next flagship may rock a bezel-free screen and embedded fingerprint scanner.
The bezel-free screen may sound cool, but accidental taps on the sides could make it a usability nightmare. On the other hand, the Korean company could rely on the software to solve this issue.
It is said that this screen could also be slimmer than previous panels, going from four to just two layers along the way. This is turn would allow for better viewing angles, improved energy efficiency as well as increased sensitivity.
When it comes to the mentioned fingerprint scanner, the rumor suggests Samsung could follow Apple’s lead and place this scanner at the bottom of the phone. In this scenario, the home button would be completely removed, leaving space for the biometric sensor.
And that apparently is just the beginning with Sammy looking to embed the technology below the display surface so it can be utilized anywhere on the screen.
Sounds pretty cool; we should have all the answers shortly. Stay tuned…
