HTC is apparently working on a music-centric phone and will release it during the first half of the year, EVleaks has tweeted. We’re left wondering about the details and can only guess what this unit will be all about. Chances are it will be a mid- rather than high-end model, with the latter position being reserved for the HTC M8, successor to the HTC One. In that sense we expect a qHD or 720p HD screen, 1GB of RAM, powerful front-facing speakers and a pair of decent headphones that come bundled as part of the deal. Moreover, HTC may decide to offer this phone with included subscription to some music service like Spotify.
Earlier music-centric effort from the Taiwanese company includes the HTC Rezound which was offered by Verizon Wireless. That model was pretty much a failure due to static interference coming on the headphones. Hopefully, this time round HTC will come up with something more users want. We’ll see…
