In the same AMA session at Reddit where HTC announced its commitment to update North American smartphones for a period of two years, the company also said it will bring Windows Phone Blue to its 8X smartphone. Moreover, they may stay in the Windows Phone game despite their devices not selling that well. The exact wording goes like this:
We’re working with Microsoft on the Blue update on Windows Phone 8X and will continue to take new products into consideration.
That’s good news for the 8X owners out there who may be served with an important software update later this year. As far as we know, Microsoft will release the major update to its mobile platform in April with handset makers likely “reacting” with updates to their devices a month or so afterwards.
