Chances are Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S5 at next week’s Mobile World Congress. However, at that time we may see the full HD version only, while the improved model with QHD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) screen will be launched later in the year.
According to some reports, the Korean company is struggling to make QHD panels and will have to postpone the launch. Meanwhile, users will be able to grab the full HD Galaxy S5 starting from March.
The rumors go on to suggest this will be the first phone in the Galaxy S series to rock a water- and dust-proof body a la Sony Xperia Z devices, making the “Active” series pretty much obsolete.
The Galaxy S5 will have a LG G2-like 5.2-inch display, 16-megapixel camera, a ton of built-in storage and 3GB of RAM. Bear in mind that these all rumors and that “nothing is official until it’s official.” Nevertheless, we’re excited to try out the next Galaxy S smartphone as soon as possible.
