After the Galaxy Gear smart watch, Samsung — it seems — is gearing towards launching a smart band of its own. This nascent market currently features a number of different products, including the market leading Fitbit devices, Nike Fuelband and Jawbone UP. Moreover, during this year’s CES, we’ve also seen few other companies joining the trend: Garmin with its Vivofit, LG with LifeBand Touch, and Sony with SmartBand.
No reason for Samsung to miss this opportunity, and apparently it won’t. According to Korean media, the company will launch the Galaxy Gear Fit during Mobile World Congress, featuring built-in pedometer as well as the ability to track your sleep patterns and overall health condition. As you would imagine, this little device will sing along Sammy’s S Health app, making sure your vital data is kept in place and easily accessible when needed.
It remains to be seen how much Samsung will ask for its smart band…
