Huawei is entering the smart wearables space with a device called TalkBand B1. It’s a unique-lookin’ smart watch with a 1.4-inch OLED flexible display and Bluetooth connectivity support. Unlike some other wrist-wearables we’ve seen before, this one comes with a Bluetooth 4.1 earpiece, hence the Chinese company decided to sell the TalkBand B1 as “Talk and Track” companion. We can’t really tell how all this works together, but we do like how it sounds.
At 14.6mm, the B1 is relatively thick; at the same time, it’s also light at 26 grams. Nevertheless, Huawei managed to make the end-product power-efficient, promising up to 6 days of standby time, while the mentioned Bluetooth earpiece will reportedly support nearly 7 hours of voice calls.
As with all other smart watches, Huawei’s baby can track your fitness activities, sleep patterns, deliver notifications and so on. According to Huawei, it also packs some handy (smart) alarm and nap functions to help you rest better.
Finally, when it comes to availability, the Huawei TalkBand B1 plans will initially hit China during March 2014, followed by Japan, the Middle East, Russia and Western Europe from the second quarter of the year. We’ll want to try it out before coming up with a final verdict — whether it rocks or…
