The all new HTC One won’t be the only high-end device the Taiwanese company will release in the first half of the year. According to this G4Games article, HTC is also working on the successor to its Butterfly S smartphone.
Codenamed “GLU2,” this device may debut on Japan’s KDDI network, though we’re sure some other markets will get it as well.
The report goes on to suggest the Butterfly S2 will rock specs comparable to the HTC M8, and include things like a Sharp-made 5.2-inch full HD screen (IGZO perhaps?), Snapdragon 801 chip clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, a pair of 5MP UltraPixel cameras on the back, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 3,000mAh battery, and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage. Android 4.4 KitKat will run the show right from the get-go.
Yeah, we want to see this bad boy released as soon as possible. Alas, we’ll have to wait for another few months before it hits the market. Stay tuned in the meantime…
