Nexus 6 to be made by LG?

And we thought Lenovo scored the deal to make the next Nexus smartphone? That seems logical now that the Chinese firm is owning Motorola. According to Gizmodo Germany, that won’t be the case, with LG continuing to make devices for Google.

Gizmodo’s report goes on to suggest that the Nexus 6 will be a “lightweight” version of the LG G3, which we expect to debut in the second half of the year. This handset may come with a 2K / QHD screen with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and other top-notch specs like powerful 64-bit processor, 3GB of RAM, 16-megapixel camera, and so on and on.

As you probably already know, Google and LG have been working on Nexus devices for the last two years, with both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 wearing the “made by LG” moniker. We’ve nothing against LG — quite the contrary — and can’t wait to try out the new Nexus the second it’s out. Then, starting from 2015, we’ll be all about modular devices coming as a result of Project Ara development… 😉
