Even though the Galaxy S5 is still not available for purchase, Samsung may be already working on a “lite” version of the device. Or that’s actually the “Neo” model, cause “Lite” naming is reserved for more affordable phones.
Anyhow, thanks to the Zauba website, which tracks India’s imports and exports, we’ve caught Sammy-made device with model number SM-G800F. The site notes that the unit has been brought into the country for R&D testing, and is valued at 31,790 INR ($520).
In comparison, the “regular” Galaxy S5 is marked as SM-G900F and has a price tag of 33,061 INR ($541). So no, it’s hard to imagine the SM-G800F is a Galaxy S5 Mini – it’s too expensive for such product. Rather this could be the Galaxy S5 Neo or Galaxy S5 Lite, which would sit somewhere between the regular Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5. Or it could be just a testing device that is never released to the general public. Waiting and seeing is pretty much all we can do at this stage…
