Apple is releasing an 8GB version of its iPhone 5C, according to a report from Engadget. The news comes via a leaked e-mail from O2 Germany, as well as a photo that proves the 8GB iPhone 5C’s existence. More than likely we won’t see the 8GB iPhone 5C in the states, as it appears the device is destined for the European market. The 8GB iPhone 5C will retail for 60 euros less than the 16GB model, and will launch on March 18th.
The release of an 8GB “budget” model of the iPhone 5C is an interesting one, as Apple currently offers the iPhone 4S as its lowest tier entry-level smartphone. We’re not exactly sure what Apple will do with the iPhone 4S, but a price drop could be in the device’s future.
