Microsoft Surface 2 now has an LTE-enabled variant which is selling for whopping $679. That cash gets you a 64GB model (no other storage options are available here), while the rest of the specs remain unchanged and include a 10.6-inch full HD screen, 1.7 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 chip, 2GB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear and 3.5-megapixel front cameras and a microSD expansion slot. Windows 8.1 RT is running the show.
Those interested to get one of these can do that from Microsoft retail stores, Microsoft’s online store, and all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores. The rest of us will, well, opt to wait for the next Surface which will hopefully rely on “One Windows” (Windows 9?) that has universal apps capable of running on smartphones, tablets and PCs. No, it’s not clear when such OS will be released but hey – we can dream, can’t we?
