Sure, we all know about Google’s Android mobile operating system today, but back in 2004, almost nobody had heard of the little startup. In 2008, just three years after Google acquired Android Inc., the technology scene remained skeptical. Would Google’s smartphone ambitions succeed? Could the advertising giant beat out Apple’s iPhone?
Android may not have beaten out the iPhone in the smartphone market, but is a huge player for sure. It’s pretty interesting to think what the mobile world would be without Android.
