Most Meizu users don’t even realize which version of Android their phones are running. The reason is simple – they don’t have to. The Chinese firm is preloading its own Flyme OS on top of Android that brings along a number of features to deliver the unique “Meizu experience.” And the same goes for Xiaomi and its MIUI.
But… we are always glad to see Meizu (and Xiaomi for that matter) adopting the latest version of Android; and that will happen by the end of this month. In fact, the company announced that both its current and last year’s flagship devices, MX3 and MX2, will get the KitKat goodies on April 28th.
Expect an array of stability and performance improvements, as well as updates to some of Meizu apps all of which should make for a that much better user experience.
And then we hope Meizu will put-in more resources into making that Ubuntu phone. Can’t wait.
