OnePlus One officially official: 5.5-inch 1080p screen, Snapdragon 801, 3GB of RAM and CyanogenMod 11S for $299

OnePlus One has been officially announced and it’s an awesome device made for folks who don’t mind owning big phones. It has a 5.5-inch full HD screen with a 4.6mm-thin bezel around, fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core chip clocked at 2.5GHz, 3GB of RAM, while running a special version of CyanogenMod 11 – CyanogenMod 11S.

All this comes in a 8.9mm-thick body that also houses an array of sensors, LTE radio, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 3,100 mAh battery and 16 or 64 GB of built-in storage. The 16GB variant comes in Silk White and a price tag of $299/€269; on the other hand, the Sandstone Black model with 64GB of internal storage will sell for $349/€299.

Initially, the OnePlus One will be available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom and the United States.

The company is also giving away 100 One units through its Phone Smash contest. Starting April 25th, OnePlus fans can go to oneplus.net/smash to apply to smash their current phone in exchange for a OnePlus One. 100 lucky applicants will get the very first 100 OnePlus Ones for just $1!
