‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Cast Announced: Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford all on Board

Not too long ago in a galaxy not far, far away, Lucasfilm announced that J.J. Abrams would be directing the next Star Wars film, Episode VII, which is set to take place right after Star Wars: Episode VI, Return of the Jedi. The cast of the next iteration in the Star Wars films has just been announced, and it includes some very familiar faces. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford have been confirmed as Episode VII cast members, as well as Peter Meyhew (Chewbacca) and Anthony Daniels  (C-3PO). The film is set to release worldwide on December 18th, 2015.

“We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.” – J.J. Abrams

Abrams and co. haven’t given us a look at the plot of the film, but Abrams and the writing team promise to “to make the fans proud.” Here’s hoping that the new Star Wars films don’t get all hokey like the prequels did.
