The Sony Xperia ZL2 is officially official in Japan, and at this stage we’re not sure whether it will ever leave the shores of the Land of the rising Sun.
Similarly to its predecessor — and unlike the Xperia Z2 — the ZL2 doesn’t have a water-resistant body. However, it’s also smaller than Sony’s flagship, boasting a 5- rather than 5.2-inch full HD screen with Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 and X-Reality engine.
Specs wise, it rocks Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core chip clocked at 2.3GHz, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage, while Android 4.4 KitKat is running the show with Sony’s own custom UI singing atop.
Plus, let’s not forget ZL2’s powerful rear camera that has a 20.7-megapixel sensor, and a solid 3,000 mAh battery which unfortunately is not removable.
Users in Japan will be able to grab the Xperia ZL2 in a few different colors, including black, white and turquoise. Check out the promo video below…
